What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

Your vaginal rejuvenation surgery will likely be performed as an outpatient procedure using either local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your preferences and the specifics of the procedure. The details of the surgery will depend on which procedure you’re undergoing and your treatment plan. Usually, the surgery will involve some combination of removing, adjusting, and tightening skin and tissue in and around the vagina. On average, vaginal rejuvenation surgery takes one to two hours. You can leave the facility a couple of hours later, but you’ll need someone to drive you home.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Your recovery time after vaginal rejuvenation surgery will depend on the specifics of your procedure. You’ll need to rest for several days, but you should be able to start easing into light activities after that. Most patients can return to work and resume their normal routines after approximately one week. However, you will likely need to avoid strenuous physical activity for four to six weeks, and you may need to wait six to eight weeks to engage in sexual intercourse.
